update

2.05.09
Since ariving at Coolangatta on the 3.05.09 for Our Big OE (Overseas Experience) it has been a busy time, the first step was to find and purchase a 2005 BA Ford Falcon to be used as our tow vehicle.
After much time trawling through Ebay ,Trading Post and Carsales.com we Purchased the 2005 BA II from a rental firm no more than 10 minutes drive away.
Next Task was to fit a 2300kg Hayman-Reece Tow Bar and wiring to the Falcon.
Once this was done and after more web searching we purchased a 17ft 2001 Jayco Freedom Caravan from people in McLean NSW, this required a 6 hour return trip to go and collect it and return to Helensvale where we have the Caravan parked pending re registration to QLD from NSW rego.
This was not so straight forward requiring a new gas certificate $66 and a new Roadworthy $75 as NSW ones are not excepted in QLD.
Further jobs were to have the car wired with electronic Brake controller (a legal requirement here) and a full service on the car including all fluids ,trans oil, engine oil,P/steering and brakefluids also new rear disk pads and the fitting of an extra large Drake transmission cooler and bypassing the existing internal radiator cooler as a precaution against failure and the possibility of trans oil and coolant mixing a rear but not unheard of issue.
Also a camac stabilizing bar kit was obtained to aid towing the van.
The rest of the time has been spent obtaining all the other essential items to stock the van ,bedding pots pans etc.
We Plan to hit the road soon heading for Kempsey for a while on or about 1.06.09
